Design Inspiration II

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to film at The Parker Palm Springs Hotel and Resort. This little celebrity gem is fun just to look at! There are quirks around every corner and the secluded desert feeling puts you in another world. It reminded me of how much I loved my recent stay at the Le Parker Meridien in New York-a totally different aesthetic but one I really, really enjoyed! Those Parkers must know what they’re doing 😉

Outside on the dining patio (note: it was 105F degrees during this photo-brutal for me!)

Le Parker Meridien

119 West 56th Street  New York, NY 10019

Le Parker Meridien is also home to some of the best burgers in NYC-the fun Burger Joint is located inside the hotel lobby. It’s always crowded but worth it 🙂

I just love this hotel in NYC!

I love these photos because they show how design/architecture, like fashion, is all about lines, colors, textures, shapes, etc. and putting them all together to create something beautiful. If you get the chance, be sure to visit these Parker gems…

On a side note, you can score some great deals to stay at one of these hotels!

Fashion Friday 7/27/12

Hello everyone! Well, there are many things to write about and it’s certainly been a busy week for me; however, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention the 2012 Olympics! Today begins the Olympics in one of the world’s greatest cities: London, England!

Of course, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, always has impeccable style and class…

How many of you are lucky enough to be there right now?? This will surely be a wonderful event in London…

Good luck to all the teams!
On a side note, the US Olympic swimmers made a silly video of the “Call Me Maybe” song…hey, I sing it too 😉

Fashion Friday 7/20/12

Olivia Palermo always has great style whether she is home in NYC or trotting around the globe…

She managed to pull off this look wearing a pretty Valentino pink lace dress at Paris Fashion Week…my favorite color pink!

And I just love how she and her boyfriend, Johannes Huebl, are always holding hands…it’s the best thing to do 😉

Have a beautiful weekend~

Lace Trend Report

Lace has always been a fashion staple. Even a small hint of lace can transform an outfit into something very beautiful. The trend lately is great because this is one of the few trends that can take you through summer into the autumn season…

If you’re going to go for a lace dress, keep your accessories to a minimum and be simple…

Or you can opt for something lace-like to add a splash to your outfit like Audrina Patridge did with her shoes…

Audrina Patridge is really sweet and always has a twist on the latest styles…here we are, smiling away 🙂

Fashion Friday 7/13/12

Hello everyone! This Fashion Friday is a little sparse because there is so much going on…the ESPY Awards in LA were this past week, now it’s Comic Con in San Diego! With press conferences, fashion shoots, etc. etc. …I’ll have to leave you with a few photos for now and will return next week…

Stay tuned for next week…have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Design Inspiration

I’ve always loved photography, architecture, design, interior decorating, and just admiring how beautifully different places can be. It all comes full circle with the fashion/beauty industry. You can find inspiration in so many ways! I’m a fan of many different styles from all over the world, but this week I’m going to showcase these architectural wonders…

Matthew Perry’s Malibu, California Home

The Malibu, California “Wing House”

Beautifully taken photos by K.D. in Valencia, Spain 🙂

I’ll share more styles next time to share the inspiration…

Brigitte Bardot Style Icon

She is probably the most iconic symbol for effortless sexiness. Brigitte Bardot was not only a movie star but an international sex symbol. She really embodies French fashion, style, and attitude.

She will always be fashion inspiration…

I’m reminded of some of my favorite things in no particular order: roses, music, French lingerie, lipstick, thunderstorms, chocolate, pink, the ocean, kisses, movies, sunsets, buildings, fireplaces, high heels, candles, travels, babies, puppies, evening stars, a beautiful dress, fast cars, champagne, smiling.

The best things are the simple, effortless things. Don’t get too caught up in fashion and labels, live in the moment, be Bardot effortless 😉

~Bonne nuit

Beauty Find: KollagenX 24KT Gold Gloss

This lip gloss is simply amazing! It contains 24K gold, collagen, and vitamin E. It has a light golden sheen that looks beautiful on all lip colors and skin tones…

Not only does it condition lips, but it also smooths and plumps them for a luxurious look and feel. There are no bad side effects like other plumpers. If that’s not enough, it smells AND tastes amazing for totally kissable lips 😉

My KollagenX Gloss:

See? I really do love it!  I know it’s daring, but here I am au naturel today applying the gloss for all of you…the applicator is simple and the packaging for the gloss is also really pretty.

You can find them on Facebook and be sure to visit their website:

In addition to their fabulous gloss, KollagenX also has a full line of 24KT gold skin care products that are amazing!!

Fashion Friday 7/6/12

Hope everyone has had a beautiful week filled with memorable 4th of July celebrations for Americans everywhere…

Today’s spotlight is on the beautiful Charlotte Casiraghi , the granddaughter of Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco.

She is elegant, athletic, has some serious equestrian skills, and is taking the fashion world by storm…

Gucci Vanity Fair Dinner

Vogue Paris Dinner

She is proof that keeping things simple, classic, elegant is always in style….

Italy and Spain

Hope everyone had a beautiful weekend and what a weekend it was! Millions of people watched the Euro 2012 final game on Sunday to see Spain vs. Italy…like the others, it was another fantastic game! Though Spain won, both countries win when it comes to fashion:) Here are two designers I’d like to highlight in honor of Euro 2012 🙂

This fashion house was founded by Cristobal Balenciaga Eizaguirre of Spain. His first boutique opened in Spain in 1919 and he later moved to Paris to continue where he opened a couture house in 1937.

Balenciaga 1955

He closed his fashion house in 1968 and died in 1972. Today, the Balenciaga fashion legacy continues under the owners of the Gucci Group.

This Italian fashion house was started by Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani in 1959 in Rome after studying in Paris. He became known for his red dresses which were in a hue later dubbed “Valentino Red”.

Valentino 1968

Valentino and his partner sold the fashion house in 1998 and he fully retired with a fashion show in 2008. His legacy clearly continues today…

Of course, there are many other amazing fashion houses from these two countries that I could have chosen for this post but that will just give me something more to write about in the future:)

Here’s to both Spain and Italy ~
